Layout of the Detection Plate
Single mutation per microtiter plate
In each column lane numbered 1 through 12, both allele-specific detection probes are present together.
Normal allele-specific detection probes are located in rows A, C, E, and G while mutant allele-specific detection probes are located in rows B, D, F and H. In this example, wells E24-F24 and G24-H24 were used as a control with the normal and mutant controls analyzed, respectively. Therefore in this example 46 samples were tested on a single plate.
Each individual sample requires only two wells of a detection plate with 4 samples tested per column.
Multiple mutations per microtiter plate
Variom has the ability to customise the plate layout and content based on our customer needs.
The plate below is an example of a test designed for 4 mutation sites. Each sample occupies a column, therefore allowing the 10 sample determinations per plate plus 2 columns as controls, columns 11 and 12, mutant and normal respectively.
As an example, the results for one sample in column 1 are shown.
