 About Us VARIOM Biotechnology AG is a fast growing, venture capital-backed biotechnology company that develops and manufactures novel nucleic acid-based test kits based on our proprietary SPOLA technology. Established in 1996, we have gone on to successfully developed and validated SPOLA technology with a range of molecular diagnostic products. We are located in Berlin, Germany, and currently employ 11 people. VARIOM rapidly develops custom and preconfigured SPOLA kits, in our current microplate format, for our customers that are applied in molecular diagnostics, pharmacogenetics and industrial research. As an OEM, VARIOM produces a range of kits in the field of coagulation disorders for a leading diagnostic company. We continue to sell our range of pre-configured kits, for the detection of medically important mutations and can be ordered via e-mail. Our research and development laboratory is constantly improving the SPOLA assay. Current projects include assay miniaturisation, assay automation and the development of complimentary products in sample preparation and label-free detection. The quality of our products and management systems is of utmost importance to VARIOM. As part of our ongoing quality management, we will be certified under the ISO13485:2003 Quality Management System in March 2004. Comments and inquiries are welcome.
